What a Paradise!

“WHAT A PARADISE!” captures the dilemma of every Indian overseas struggling to adapt to an unfamiliar lifestyle in the ‘Paradise’ they have toiled to attain while severing old bonds with their motherland. The characters grapple with issues of identity in reinventing themselves in foreign lands but the influence from their roots in India prevails and the lines of demarcation seem to blur after a point. The book touches upon a diverse range of issues that ail Indian society from economic and moral corruption to the class divide and meaningless symbols of opulence that people flaunt like badges of distinction.

There is no clear answer to the question ‘which is the true paradise?’ While it is set mainly in New Delhi, India, with each character’s story, it relocates to Sydney, London, California and other parts of the United States.
